pixos.net is about weekly calls to photographers to take pictures simultaneously around the world - pictures of a particular situation, a theme, a common-day event, etc. with the emphasis on each photographer’s country and location. One week might be Breakfast in… [Tokio, Rio de Janeiro, Bordeaux, Cairo, Stockholm, and also every smaller town, village and cottage...], another is Going to work in…, 12pm Noon in…, …
Everyone can browse the final submissions by location and I can imagine that there will be many fascinating journeys and discoveries about the world this way!

The website for pixos.net isn’t fully ready yet, but in the meantime, the first call (first ‘pixo’) already exists, and I would be much honored if you would participate:

“Waking up in 2004″

If you are interested to join others like you around the world, then on January 1, capture moments, sights, and feelings of the first morning of a new year around you… even if you only wake up at 5pm due to non-photographic headaches. A pixo is your interpretation, your vision of it, and I hope you will enjoy it.

Because the website is not ready to take submissions just now, please hold on to your pictures and I will be in touch with you about the launch of the site (as soon as possible). The details aren’t entirely final, but a pixo submission should probably be at most 5 to 6 photographs.
