Imagine a web of weblogs - one main page with a bunch of links to other weblogs.

Imagine a crowd of colleagues who’s ability to create weblogs as easy as making coffee.

Imagine leadership - not management - YES, a thought leader who believes in people, believes that everything is about what you can create in the relation to other people. Believes that the right framing is what it’s all about.

Imagine transparency in internal and external knowledge.

Imagine easy access to that knowledge - rss-readers and that kind of stuff.

What will happen in a business context?

Creation of a Enterprise Weblog?

Diminishing of existing powerbases?

Ignition of new knowledge relations? Internally, externally?

I think so. At DDC I’m trying to create what I call a Enterprise Weblog - I’m doing it as skunkwork. Mainly because top management still doesen’t understand what ist’s all about. I don’t blame them. In most cases I believe management is focusing on spreadsheets, numbers on bankaccounts, boardmeetings and that kind of stuff. In fact I did my self when I was CEO.

So, my roadmap to create what I believe is an understanding from the bottom up on what weblogs is all about, where to use them, for what purposes, showing the ease of use.

And in fact, how many great inventions is coming from top management? I thing it’s about convincing by doing.

So my advice - don’t tell about the truth, show it and they will see .it sounds almost religious.

  1. I trust it that you have taken a look at Michael Angeles’ excellent website. Michael is a friend of mine who is also an Information Architect and a strong proponent of Bottom Up knowledge management and blogging.
